Public Architectural Installation Summer 2015
IHYA MUDUN Urban Development Co. has continued its sponsorship in joint support with AHB Arabian Building, of the Retrospective Project following last years Architectural Installation at the Alaan Artspace in Riyadh during the Change Agents Exhibition title Decoded 1.0. The second Architectural installation of the retrospective series was built and placed on display by the Saudi Art Council in Jeddah at the Sharaa Art Gallery event in June 2016. Metroglitch , a desgin initiative launched in late 2014, was proud to be the exhibitor of the piece titled Difting Perimieters. THE GSAS SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE
GSAS has held a series of both academic and professional certification course in the Saudi Kingdom and throughout the GCC. Recently, the Ar Riyadh Development Authority trainned and GSAS certified many of its Directors and Administrators while while at Al Faisal University in Riyadh, the first group of Saudi female architectural engineering students were trained and GSAS certified in March 2014. The GSAS certification coures and training events have been attended by hundreds of motifvated industry professionals, students and developers alike since the GSAS initiave was lanched in the Kingdom in early 2014.
In a interview with the first certified group of female architectural engineering students at Al Faisal Univeristy and thier Educators, Engineering Faculty Eng. Mona Kamal whom coordinated the certification coarse for her students stated: " I am extremely proud of this group of Architectural Engineers and believe that they will inspire future students and professionals alike to make sustainable engineering and design practice common place in the industry." Al Faisal University has made it their aim to continue to encourage it's students to attain professional certification in areas relevant to their professional prior graduation as a part of its progressive stance towards education. IHYA TOWER FIRST GSAS RATED BUILDING IN KSA
Project Featured on Cover of Al Bena Magazine
The Ihya Tower office building in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on King Abdallah Road will be the first built GSAS rated building in Saudi Arabia. The building is an IHYAMUDUN development project designed by Abourass Designlab Los Angeles. The building is designed in accordance with the GSAS sustainability design guidelines and will generate solar power via it's glass curtain wall by means of building integrated photovoltaic as well as utilize sustainable building materials to ensure an efficient, long lasting sustainable architecture. Construction of the tower is expected to complete in early 2016.
